Now, you can find round-trip tickets from Houston, Dallas or Miami starting around $260 USD for a quick weekend getaway with friends and family, and it’s only two and a half hours away. With newly-added flights from Canada and extended routes from four major US airlines to Belize Philip Goldson International Airport, it’s no wonder that this Central America gem has been ranked as the number one Winter Vacation and Ambergris Caye as one of the top five islands to visit in the Caribbean.

Flying to Belize: Important Information


The best ways to get around Belize are by car, water taxi bicycles, plane and golf cart. Taxis and rental cars are the most dependable mode of transportation around Belize City. Belize has a couple of airlines with great safety records that will fly you under 45 minutes to the popular islands of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. If you prefer getting to the cayes on a boat then water taxis are your best bet; they usually take about an hour and a half to an hour and forty-five minutes, depending on weather conditions.

Bicycles are an easy way to move around especially in the cayes. A lot of hotels provide free bicycle to their guests. Most local islanders ride their bicycles around and it has become popular among the tourists as well. It is a great way to explore the islands. Golf carts are mostly popular in Ambergris Caye and if you really want to explore the island effortlessly, this is the only way to go!
